Avery

Shelly's Bridals

I had the pleasure of shooting Shelly's bridals recently and we had a great time. She is truly excited about her upcoming wedding and you can see it bubbling out of her. We made several friends along the way who were more than happy to congratulate her, and with each well wisher she was delighted.

Big Girl Zara

We are about a week from Zara's real birthday, but we celebrated her birthday with my family this past Friday. She did a great job eating her cake and making a little mess, but she was more interested in putting icing on Mimi than smearing it on her own face or in her own hair.

It's hard to believe that she will be a year old and that she is our last baby. She is a delight and we are so blessed to have her. Thank you Lord for giving us another sweet baby girl.

Brooks and Amy

Well, this makes me feel really old. Another one of my "kids" from back in my youth ministry days got married. And thankfully, I got to photograph her wedding.

Amy is kind hearted and makes everyone smile. And while I just met Brooks at the wedding, I am happy to say that he is kind hearted and I enjoyed meeting him.

Jessica and Melvin

I knew it was going to be a great day when I showed up and the bride had bright pink shoes. I love it!

Jess and Melvin were a referral from another client in Kansas, and they have been such an awesome couple. They are a lot of fun to shoot and are such nice people. The family was great as usual, and I'm delighted to have been part of their day. Here are a few of my favorites.

Mike and Courtney

We've always called each other "the other Courtney." It all started when I worked in the youth ministry where Courtney and her sisters were involved. She is spunky, funny, and just a great girl.

And now, she has Mike. He was the sweetest groom I've had in a while. He absolutely adores her and it was evident from the moment I met him that he cared greatly for her and planned to take care of her.

Now they're out of college and moving off for their ministry job, and I couldn't be happier for them. God bless you guys. I'm thankful to have been part of your day.

The Cousins

These are my nephews and niece on my side of the family. They are growing so quickly, and it's great to get the chance to take their photos. I have to be quick because they're always playing games or building forts or using their imaginations in some way. Thus, they don't want to stop for very long for photos. So, I chase them and grab what I can.

However, for mother's day, they were happy to oblige my requests for their Mama. Fun!

Brayden and Chloe

Alright, the secret's out, so now I can post! I've been sitting on some kids' sessions because mother's day was coming up, and I couldn't post the images and ruin the surprise!

I had a great time with Brayden and Chloe. We chased some geese and climbed on rocks, and Brayden threw some rocks...mostly at the geese. I'm glad to say that no geese were actually harmed during this photo shoot, but I'm sure those geese were thankful to see us go.

These kids are super spunky and a blast to hang out with. Enjoy!

My girls

I never had a sister. Growing up, I always wondered what it would be like to have a sister to giggle with, dress up with, and just enjoy having another girl around. So, it is a joy to watch my girls play together. Even now, while Zara is still so little, they already giggle together. Zara laughs at everything Zoe does. These two are such a blessing!

Springtime

I love springtime and all the new blessings that come this time of year, and so I have been shooting some photos of nature. I just love the promise of new things to come.

I took this photo at night when I should have been sleeping.

I took this photo just as the sun was setting. The white blossoms were glowing with the hues of the sunset while the sky was that beautiful shade of blue. Wonderful!

It's been a while since I promised to post this engagement, and I'm glad to say that we are moved in and getting settled in quite well. Without further delay...

Zoe's teacher, Jennifer, just had a baby, and I was honored to photograph sweet Elle Marie. She's a great baby, and her mother has been such a blessing to our family. Zoe has grown a great deal from being in Jennifer's classroom, and I am truly thankful for her.

Zara was cooperative today, so while the other kids were resting, Zara and I had a mini photo session. Isn't she precious? So snuggly and soft. UMMM! I'm training her to get used to my camera in her face. Shortly after this, there was a meltdown. We'll get there!

The little Z

I'm sure everyone with children experiences the "this is my last one and they're growing too fast" moment, and that's exactly what I'm feeling today. Baby Zara is a sweet baby who giggles often and is starting to talk. (Doesn't she just fit right in...) She will be 5 months old this weekend, and we're so glad to have her. I know her big brother and sister are happy to have her, too.

Snuggling with daddy is a big deal around here. We like to say he's snugglerific!

About Zoe...

This girl keeps me guessing and on my toes. She is sweet and smart. Not to mention clever and always up to something. I love my big girl, and at this rare moment she let me photograph her.

She's saying, "Please Mama! Can I hold Parker?"
Who's Parker? Well...this is Parker, her lizard. She loves him and takes care of him. However, she can only hold him when Daddy is home. I won't touch him!

Zeke goes to the Barber Shop

I think every little guy needs to go to the old fashioned barber shop once in a while, and when my dad mentioned that he needed to get himself a haircut, I seized the opportunity to take Zeke.

Here's my sweet guy before he got in the chair. Poppy went first to show Zeke that he didn't have to be afraid. And by the way...Zeke never smiles for my camera. This was a rare occasion.

There were some tears...then there was a sucker...
Finally he calmed down and stopped crying.
All because Poppy played with a toy! We're so glad to have Poppy! (And to have a new haircut.)

My friend, Eric asked me to second shoot again for him this last weekend, and it was a such a great day. I had never been to a Vietnamese wedding before, so I was in for a treat. There were so many customs and bright colors.

The foliage around here is in its prime, and we had just a few minutes to shoot these photos. The colors of the trees were brilliant. It certainly doesn't look this where I come from. Beautiful!

I've had a lot going on this week. A cousin birthday party, and trip with the family. We stopped in Oklahoma City yesterday to catch some photos of the Oklahoma landrush monument. Those horses are gigantic! So the photos are of a birthday with horses, and some giant bronze horses. Horses, horses, and more horses!

And there was a nice waterfall along the monument path, too. It is really nice down there. Enjoy!
